hey ernil ,
i m too appearing for cat 05.... i started my prep in sept and i have a phobia against maths.....u cn imagine how horrible my situation in quant must be .... but telling u 1 thing vry seriously ..... in CAT i think every rule doesnt apply to every1.... some say 25 attempts per section cm say 30 .... bt at the end of the day its score that counts ....dsnt it? take my advice attempt as many questions as u cn ... i no people attempting 90 questions getting a score in 40s and cm1 attempting 48 questions getting in 40s too.... so u decide which 1 d u wanna be ... there is no hard and fast rule ... be ur own boss wen comes to strategies in taking CAT ... all the best...

check up the cut offs of previous CATs ..... 2004 ws 58 2003 ws 64....actually it hovers around the 56 to 66 ....depending on the type of question paper..... this time i ve heard that it may cross 65 coz this CAT is suppose to be a game of speed ...nt a tough paper bt speed will be an asset..... in such a case try to attempt around 80 questions if u have the accuracy of 80% ..... this time only serious candidates have bn allowed to appear .... so people say that its gonna be easy and to crack an easy CAT paper means attempt as many questions as possible ....all the best
