| I have secured 54% an 52% in my 10th a 12th respectively and am interested in persuing an mba but i am doubtful if my previous academic record (which is obviously not impressive) will be a decisive factor in my selection for any institute selectiing me for an mba course or are admissions solely based on my CAT Scores???? (Sorry if i poasted in the wrong forum- topic) |

Academic record does definitely play role in most b schools.
Some are willing to accept explanations for poor academic performance. While others dont.
It is widely believed that IIM A places good amount of importance on your past academic performance and a good CAT score, great GDPI and a wonderful worex alone may not suffice for A. Instis such as IIM C are believed to give the benefit of doubt to the student for a poor academic performance in the past, if he has shown good performance in CAT and subsequent stages. |
