Admission Procedure @ Anna University

The TANCET (Tamilnadu Common Entrance Test) for MBA and MCA is usually conducted on the third/last Sunday of May for the July Admissions.

The Issue of Application forms is advertised in the month of March and the forms are issued in April. The completed forms have to be submitted by the end of April or by the first week of May. The deadlines would be mentioned in the advertisement. I will update this forum of the same.

Eligibility MBA : A pass in any Degree (10+2+3) pattern. Those who are appearing for final year/semester examination in April/May 2008 can also apply for TANCET 2008.

After the TANCET exam, application forms would be available for counseling. Separate counseling would be conducted for Anna University and for Anna University affiliated colleges. Therefore, two different forms need to be obtained from the College of Engineering Campus and The Directorate of Technical Education Campus.

Writing the TANCET does not imply applying for the MBA program at Anna University. There have been many candidates who assumed that applying for TANCET meant applying to Anna University and ended up missing the admissions in spite of scoring well in the TANCET.

The Anna University counseling would be held first at the Guindy Campus, followed by the affiliated colleges counseling about 2 -3 weeks later.

Most affiliated colleges usually have 50% admissions through counseling and the rest through management quota while all the seats at CEG are filled by counseling.

There is no GD or PI as part of the admission procedure. Also, unlike your Engineering counseling which takes into account your 12th grade marks, the MBA admission is purely based on the TANCET scores.
