Hello,
I am a 25 yrs of age and I would like to appear for CAT 2006. I am pursuing BCA from IGNOU and have appeared for one and only paper required to complete Graduation in JUNE 2006. I am still awaiting result. My question are:
1.One of the condition for students awaiting final year results
is to to enclose a copy of the certificate (course completion certificate) from their College/Institution that they have already appeared in their final examination. Since IGNOU's BCA is a correspondence course, their exams are conducted through different centres across INDIA therefore how do I obtain the course completion certificate. Does this have to be issued from the UNIVERSITY itself, which means I have to get it done from New Delhi(IGNOU's Head Office) or from the exam centre incharge, where I appeared for Final year examination.
2. IGNOU does not have a year wise grading and passing system. It uses Semester wise grading system. I have attended all the 6 semester required for obtaining a BCA degree, however one paper from 2nd semester is still required to be completed, for which i have appered in the JUNE 2006 exam and the result is awaited. IGNOU do not give out seperate first year or second year marksheet rather sends a consolidated grade card, which shows in how many paper ur successfull in and how many paper are still to be passed. This grade card can be generated and printed Online. However IIM requires that all applying candidates submit 1st year and 2nd year marksheet along with course completion certificate, if awaiting result.
Note: A student will be awarded the BCA degree certificate only if they clear all the required papers with a total equal to or above 50%.
Therefore how do i go about this. Shall I the mail the completed CAT application form to the IIM with the generated online grade card (attested by the cenre head) along with a seperate letter explaining that I would be considered passed only if I obtain 50% or more in the result which is awaited therefore be allowed to take the exam or how do i go about this. What are the chances of my application getting rejected, which means that Rs. 1100/- are wasted for nothing at all.
Please guide me. I know that it is not possible for me to get into the IIM's but I want to use the CAT scores to apply in institutes which uses CAT scores.
Your early reply in this matter is highly appreciated. Thank for your assistance and guidance.
