1. d)
winner - 56%
loser - 44%
so, 12% = 144 votes, calculate what is 100% votes. This corresponds to 80% of voters.
So, total no of voters = 144*100*100/12/80 = 1500
(The answer only under the assumption that 2 candidates contested, o'wise data is insufficient)

2. my answer is coming out to be around 32.1%
this way...
let total students be 100
av = 75 *(30/100)*13 + 75*(10/100)*28 + 75*(60/100)*60
----------------------------------------------------
100
= 32.1%
plz correct me if i m wrong

3. data is insufficient....
we'll have 2 equations and 3 variables-> 2 salaries and saving/expenditure
not possible to solve.
plz correct and clarify me if i m wrong

4. a)
Vicky Ashu
initial: 175 100
raise 245 140
% = 96%

5) b)
total = 216*(100/90)*(5/4) = 300

6) b)
lets say 1 ticket was originally sold, collection = 250
finally, 1.5 tickets were sold for = 250*(82.5/100) /* dont calculate yet*/
deduction in prise, thus = 250 - 250*(82.5/100) = 112.5 Rs

7) c)
1st yr 2nd yr 3 yr
150 75*(3/2) 75*(9/Cool
100 ------> 75 -----------> 75*(3/4) ------------> 75*(9/16) (equiv. of left capital)
| | |
75 75*(3/4) 75*(9/16)

75*(9/16) corresponds to 16875, so 75*(3/4) wld correspond to 22500 Rs

Cool d)
-10% -10% -5% -10%
orig ----------->..------------>..---------->...--------> 146205
total depriciation = -31.55% (using a+b+ab/100)
so, original cost ~ 2,10,000

9) c)
100 -----> 187.5
work on options given....25 wld give the answer

10) b)
new selling price = 13080*(100/129)
hence reduction % = 9*(100/109) = 8.26%

11) cldn't solve now, not enough clear....need to discuss....

2) correct answer is 37.6 (28.2/.75) as already indicated.

Average Marks = Arithmetic weighted average
= (0.3x13 + 0.1x33 + 0.35x60)/0.75 = 37.6
