i think it shd not made compulsury, bcz i think that when students get this age they automatically learn abt it and there is no need to teach abt sex bcz its a natural thing and in my opinion its not an important topic to teach them in place of this topic another topic we can teach them......

I wanna ask do v really know wat is taught in sex education? only n only Intercourse? I think the answer is no, not actually. Basically wat is taught is about human body the biological changes that occur timely as a human grow, etc etc……… Badshaah mentioned every one becomes sex educated sooner or later. But it leaves u obsessed wid sex related matters if u r very lately educated or if u sources of education r not correct. Its not necessary to make sex education compulsory but at least sex related topic should be openly talked about.

well i feel it should be made compulsory in every institution.very few parents are willing to talk about sex with their children.....sex ed not only provides us with the basic knowledge.but also arms us with the safety measures .......sex is not all about intercourse , ther is a lot involved in it like safe sex and all.........plus the majority of us think we know about sex but teh reality is we believe in a lot of myths .............it is very important to impart correct sex knowledge in schools

culture of india has changed now i hope u all agree
As one of u mentioned that our elders also managed without this education so y not we.but that time was different.today television and other sources already display such things that children get distracted so it is very imp to teach them before they take any step in curosity.
sex education is to view it as necessary to reduce risk behaviours such as unprotected sex, and equip individuals to make informed decisions about their personal sexual activity.
So at a certain age one should be taught about it.
I agree we all become aware of it when we grow up but that is through our friends, books, telivision or other sources not from a point of view of a teacher or a doctor.

I think that sex is also a part of our body and we all know that why it is important, just bcz of being aware from diseases.....
My friends our body can get a lot of dadly diseases..........
So we should teach abt all the diseases not only sex, we should teach abt sex just as a part of this subject, we should not highlight the point SEX EDUCATION bcz of our culture and morality just bcz HUM US DESH KE WASI HAIN JIS DESH MAIN GANAGA BAHATI HAI.......
According to ashutosh sex topic should be talked openly.....
I m agree with u my friend wts ur name ....... Ashutosh

Yes I am perfectly agreed with badshaah and others who feel that sex education should not be highlighted rather it should be talked about openly as we talk about other diseases.
We are not americas and Englands. We are true Indians and it should be handled in Indian way. Let's talk about it openly but including it as a compulsory subject..Well this is not going to help..

Well i believe one of the chief reasons that sex education was introduced in America and other countries was cos they may have felt their children was experimenting with this subject without actually being aware of its harms.....
Such may be the case in India too..The younger minds are easily influenced by the various magzines and movies with adult content and will have the tendency to micmick them...
Admit it ...Children in India are first introduced to sex through friends or third rate magzines......

Its not the same world where our grandfathers used to live...
This is KALI YUG at its worst....

I am of the opinion that children should atleast be taught about STDs and the various changes that undergo in their body when they reach adolsence...

admit it guys..this is time to take some major decisions...than being pacified by the easy safe life of our forefathers.......

This is me signing off...thank you Twisted Evil

I SERIOUSLY FEEL THAT SEX EDUCATION IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY FOR IN INDIA WHICH RANKS 2ND IN AIDS THE NEED FOR AWARENESS REGARDING SEX AND THE SAFETY MEASURES SHOULD BE INDUCTED FROM STUDENT AGE ITSELF AND SHOULD BE MADE COMPULSORY SO AS TO PREVENT FURTHER INCREASE IN SPREAD OF AIDS[/quote]

i think that today as there is increasing population there is a need for this types of education.as we know this education is conducted today in biology & the field related to the doctor only it should be made mandatory in every fields.and as the gov is spreading education it should also tell its people the +ve & -ve sides of sex.

Hi friendz,
Wat i really think is that it is really necessary to have knowledge about sex for adoloscents who are more vulnereble to STDs nd AIDS. Many of u can say that preventing AIDS is just a game of using a condom but in actual practice it's far more diversified. Sex education is not only abt teaching how to prevent AIDS nd STDs but it includes each and every small activity which can enhance ur pleasure nd make it more safer.

This is my answer to dipti..................
I know very well that sex is not a disease, and I was not giving my opinion abt sex, the topic is sex education...... and v all know y it is necessary...? I think u did not understand wt I mean..........
I meaned to say that v r talking abt sex & sex education, & its important just bcz of being aware from the diseases generated by sex..........

I further wanted to say that v r indian and there r so many religions in our country....., till now v kiss our mother's & father's foot when v go for exams, I dont know abt u, but i use to kiss my mother's & father's foot....., & this is our indian culture...., so in this country should v hilight the point sex education...........................?
think abt it........
Sorry, Thanks & Regards

sorry Badshaah.....
But what has kissing the feet of our parents got to do with sex education..

I dont kiss the feet of my parents when i go for an exam... does that mean iam an alien to India....hey there r various other cultures that Indians follow....do u do all that...
--- when some guest arrives at ur home.do u wash their feet?
--- when a teacher ask u to part with ur thumb finger as his dakshina
would u do it..?
--- would u still like to practise "sati" in our society..? Twisted Evil

C'mon..even though our culture is the best in the world..it still isnt perfect
we have to imbibe from other cultures all that is good..only then can a civilization thrive sucessfully...
Likewise we cant say that introducing sex education is goin to hurt our culture..especially when our youth is competing with the west by indulging in pre-marital sex.....
As for highlighting the sex edu...If u have been to school u may recon that there have been lessons in biology about diseases( and how to prevent them) hygene, first aid etc....
what it lacks is a clear cut picture of the spread & prevention of STDs...

So... I hope U undertand the importance of highlighting sex education in our society..................

Thank You
