hi can anybody plz tell me wat is the best strategy for solving questions like:
how many terms will b common in the given 2 series .1)2 ,5, 8,11......till 100 terms.2)7, 9, 11......till 100 terms.??????????? |

hi,
the key thing here is to find the first common term between the 2 series. here first common term is 11. now take the LCM of the common difference of the 2 series which is 2*3=6 in this case.
now in first series 11 is the 4th term. and every alternate term after that will be common term with the other series(bcoz difference of 6 is required). so there will be 49 such common terms in the between the 2 series |

Hi;
The common series is an A.P. with CD=6 and first term=11
Therfore the 33rd term is: 203.
The 100th term of 2, 5,8,11 ...is 299 and for the other series is 205.
So there will be 33 common terms.
